Best Bets For Bar Stools

Putting a short swivel bar stool at a high bar doesn’t make sense. If a person has to strain to reach a bar, they will be uncomfortable and more likely to have an accident. And, if a bar stool is too high, a person’s legs will be unlikely to reach the ground, creating a seating situation that is awkward at best. When determining which bar stools would be best, you should keep these two instructions in mind:

~Measure tables and counters by the length of the floor to the top of the table or bar. About 10-12 inches should be between a tabletop and a stool’s seat.

~Measure the table’s overhang; this includes the distance from the tabletop to the lowest part of the table’s sides, excluding the table’s legs. The wider the overhang, the lower the bar stool should be.

How To Set Up A Dart Board

A dart board is a great accessory to any game room or rec-room. With all the variations of the game of darts it can give you and your friends hours of entertainment. Here are a few helpful tips to bear in mind if you are thinking of installing a dart board in your home.

The location of your dart board is very important. It may sound obvious , but is important that there is enough space to play a good game of darts. As a guide line you will need enough space around 11ft long and 5ft wide. Try to locate it away from open doors and where people will be come through. Not only can this be disruptive to the game but can cause injury to someone who gets hit by a dart.

You can fix a back board behind the dart board to protect the surround wall from damages that the darts can cause, or you can get a dart board that has a built in cabinet like a floor model. Cabinets made especially for dart boards are useful for storing your darts and accessories, and enable you to close the doors on your board when it’s not in use.

Hanging your dart board it is important to take exact measurements. Measure twice and hang once! The proper height should be exactly 5ft 8 inch’s from the middle of the bulls eye to the ground. If you do not have a dart mat then you will have to make a mark on the floor, using a marker or tape or a piece of wood or metal. the trough line should me 7ft 9.25″ from the board.

Once you have the dart board in place the you can work on accessorizing the room by hanging a score board near the dart board and get some nice bar stools and tables, to keep your company comfortable.

Rec Room Redesign

After months of ceaseless inquiries, my wife finally gave me clearance to turn the basement into a recreation room. She was never really opposed to the idea, but she certainly didn’t share my undying enthusiasm about spending our evenings in subterranean bliss, shooting pool and tossing back a few refreshments. I began the work right away.

Installing the bar was probably the most backbreaking part of the ordeal, and moving a billiard table into the house and down the narrow staircase was no mean feat either. I welcomed the opportunity to get a bit creative with the precise design details. I found the perfect vinyl bar stools to complement the green felt atop the pool table and embellished the room with several other pieces of bar decor. My only difficulty now is coming up with reasons to leave the comfort of my underground dwelling.

While bar stools used to be limited to standard wooden, no back chairs, there has been an increased interest in this particular piece of furniture over the years. And with that increased interest came a series of changes and alterations to that standard format. Now, bar stools come in a huge variety of styles. The frames are still most commonly made of metal or wood, but they vary greatly in height and features. Some are particularly high to accommodate a tall counter. Some are squatter for a shorter bar or counter.

Certain bar stools have no back at all, while others have a mid-size back. And others still have a very tall back. The same is true of armrests. That is, they come in a variety of thicknesses and lengths. Another major distinction between bar stools is that some are the non-swivel variety, while others offer free lateral movement. Whether you choose a wooden swivel bar stool without a back or a metal stationary stool with a full back, the perfect bar stool depends on what you find comfortable and what you find best complements your home.

Create An At-Home Bar

There’s nothing like quite as fun as having a bar in your very own home. Especially if it’s located in a basement, den, or other separate room, the bar can be a great getaway for you. And it can be more than just a collection of wine bottles or boxes of liquor. With a little bit of experience in carpentry or the help of some professionals, you can have an elaborate and elegant bar that is sure to be the envy of all your friends and neighbors. And, of course, it will also be a fun and interesting place to host parties or entertain friends.

The best way to create this enviable bar is by installing a wooden countertop with wooden shelves. Preferably, the wood should be a dark wood that is polished to a high sheen. And the shelves the liquor bottles and drink options should be accented by glass panels and lighting. This will create a classic and elegant bar look. Finish off the look with some simple metal bar stools. Make sure the bar stools are as comfortable as possible. The idea behind the bar is that it’s comfortable and inviting, and the best way to create that atmosphere is with luxury seating.

Social Butterflies Swivel

Swiveling bar stools are a good way to encourage a social atmosphere in any home or business. When you think about it–kitchens, bars, game rooms and restaurants are places where people commonly gather to talk with others. It’s important to offer seating that allows individuals to have eye contact when speaking with others. Swivel bar stools are the perfect way to ensure guests or patrons maintain contact in any seating situation.

The most important feature to look at when shopping for swiveling bar stools is the stool’s ability to rotate 360 degrees with ease. Bar stools should also be comfortable and durable. They can come in a variety of materials and styles. Some, for example, may have a cushioned-seat, armrests or a back rest. There is even a certain type of swivel stool that is tailored to mischievous children. These stools feature a spring-loaded mechanism that automatically returns the stool to its original position.
