Ronnie The Limo Driver : Chris Gagliardi/Howard TV On Demand
There is no other game, that involves beer, that has or is growing as fast as the game of Beer Pong! It has grown into the collage scene and has spread to even, the one and only, Betty White who has played the game on TV!

With beer pong continuing to grow, leave it to the Howard Stern team to improve the game with just one twist. This past Friday, Howard TV filmed a special Strip Beer Pong show to air in late April. I was lucky enough to attend part of the taping, and I can honestly say you’ll never see a Beer Pong tournament quite like this one. Some of the members of the Stern posse who participated in the highly skilled event (along with some “exotic dancers”) included Ronnie the Limo Driver (above), Scott the Engineer, Ralph Cirella, JD and Shuli. For a reminder of just how good the  Howard TV crew is at putting events like this together.

There are many teams that play each other that travel to other collages to play, not to mention the huge tournament that is held in Vegas every year. Have to wonder if this game will ever end? Play on you Beer Pong Players!!

The Spring Beer Pong Beginning

The spring season is here and the annual migration of beer pong tables has started! The annual migration of beer pong tables from their winter homes on beer-soaked kitchen floors and fraternity basements to their warm-weather habitats of porches, decks, driveways, roofs and lawns is underway. The campus area is loud with games being played at all hours with all walks of life. Seldom do the games’ participants question the origin of their beloved activity.

The story of how the game had started is full of confessions  and wild guesses!

“There’s certainly people that claim to know the origins,” said Billy Gaines, co-founder of  the World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas. He’s talked to countless alumni of dozens of schools who claim their alma mater started playing the now-ubiquitous drinking game.

Today, beer pong enjoys a popularity unlike any other kind of drinking game. “Nearly every college in the country has beer pong,” claimed Gaines. Everyone knows how to play it, and most people enjoy it. No game even comes close in terms of ubiquity and appeal. But can beer pong go where no other binge drinking game has gone before? According to Gaines, “In some ways, it already has.”

Popular culture certainly recognizes it. Jimmy Fallon has played beer pong with Anna Kournikova and Betty White. There even are videos of their games. The entire plot of “Road Trip 2″ revolved around beer pong (“I heard it was pretty sh-tty,” Gaines said.). He even hints that a “huge movie with real big names” will feature beer pong prominently. There was even an (awful) beer pong Wii game.

Gaines credits beer pong’s popularity with it being competitive but easy to pick up. He tells of family reunions turning into beer pong tournaments. “More and more adults are starting to learn about the game.”

If you are like most young men you dream of getting away from under the folks rules and move onto your own crib! If you wish you can have ice cream for breakfast and not have to worry about making a mess in the house! No parents to listen too!

Then when you got older and started going to bars it dawned on you! “A bar in my house”.

That’s where we are today. As a young adult, you’re not getting any younger! In fact, every day you’re getting one step closer to the grave. Pretty soon, you won’t be able to buy any bar furniture because you’ll be dead.

The first thing that you need is an actual bar. If possible you need to set it up against a wall along with bar stools, ones that swivel, and possible with shelves and a sink.

The bar itself doesn’t need to be too fancy. After all, a bar is really nothing more than a counter top used to pour alcohol. As long as you’ve got a counter long enough for at least 1 person to work with, you should be fine.

Other then that you need some storage space to hold your alcohol and a place to put the ice. With it being a home bar you can always store these things some where else in the house. For ideal convenience you should have some drawers and cabinets built into you bar.

Finally, you need some places for your guests to park their big behinds. Its recommended that you set your bar up in an area of the house which already has some seating arrangement. One popular choice is the living room. Because of the frequency with which this room is used, you can turn a simple get together into an alcoholic beverage bonanza!

Rec Room Redesign

After months of ceaseless inquiries, my wife finally gave me clearance to turn the basement into a recreation room. She was never really opposed to the idea, but she certainly didn’t share my undying enthusiasm about spending our evenings in subterranean bliss, shooting pool and tossing back a few refreshments. I began the work right away.

Installing the bar was probably the most backbreaking part of the ordeal, and moving a billiard table into the house and down the narrow staircase was no mean feat either. I welcomed the opportunity to get a bit creative with the precise design details. I found the perfect vinyl bar stools to complement the green felt atop the pool table and embellished the room with several other pieces of bar decor. My only difficulty now is coming up with reasons to leave the comfort of my underground dwelling.

Patio Party With a Theme

A patio party is always better if it is set with a specific theme.  Often a patio party will revolve around a certain food using other complimenting  foods ans de’cor as part of the theme. For this reason, Italian food, Mexican food, French food, Chinese food, all work well for the basis of a theme.

Of course, you could use any fare that you like. A group of young people would probably enjoy a party centered on a pizza theme. Set some tables with checkered tablecloths, place some old wine bottles holding lit candles on some safe tables set back from the action, and be inspired with any other decorations that might remind you of an old pizza parlor.

Something unexpected would bring enjoyment to your guests. For an adult party, you can also use an particular group of wines or beer and even cocktails to work into your theme party. The decorating of the patio party can continue the theme that you choose, so that if it is a Mexican theme you can decorate with Margarita glasses at the tables. You can go to the store and pick up items that so you can decorate the patio  to the Mexican theme. Put on some music with a Salsa flavor and the party has begun.

If you choose to have a patio/deck party with a theme then you will have a successful party, that all who attend will remember and will want you to have another themed party!

Killer Dart Game

This dart game is fun and swift which will make it a great game for a large group and for a great rec/bar room game! There are variations to this game, so this is just the basic rules of the game!

To begin, an order of play is decided, and each player throws one dart ‘bad-handed’ (left-handed players throw right-handed and vice-versa) at the board to decide their number. Obviously, if a dart misses or hits a number that is already allocated, the player retries. Each player is allocated a set number of lives (usually 5) and is generally required to put a small stake into a pot. It is a good tactic to avoid being adjacent to somebody else’s number.

Players start by taking turns to aim at their allocated number, scoring a life for each dart that hits it, 2 lives for a double and 3 lives for a treble. Once a player has scored 5 lives, that player is a ‘killer’ until somebody else deducts one or more lives from his score. However, a player must get EXACTLY 5 lives to become a killer, if he overshoots, then his score is deducted by the amount exceeded. For instance, if a player is on 4 lives and hits a treble of his number, the first of the 3 lives scored takes the player to 5 but the remaining 2 lives are deducted – so the end result is a score of 3 lives.

Once a player is a killer, they aim at any of the other player’s numbers. Each time they do, the appropriate number of lives is deducted from the victimised player’s score. When a player is reduced to below 0, that player is out of the game. For instance if a player has 1 life and a killer hits that player’s number’s double, that player’s score is reduced to -1 and he is out of the game.

The final player left in the game is the winner and collects the pot. You are welcome to use house rules and change up the game as you see fit to do! This should make for a great and fun game for friends and neighbors.

Creating Your Own Bar

Building a bar for your home can be quite fun and easy. You do not need to spend much to have your own bar. All you need is a little imagination and, of course, planning.

The Internet is full of ideas on how to design your own bar. Find a design that complements the rest of your home while still setting your bar apart. Before anything else, determine your budget and prioritize your needs and wants. You may want to save on a wine cooler but splurge on swivel barstools and an authentic bar clock. Everything will depend on your preference. Also, choose accessories that fit into the cabinet space above your bar. There’s nothing worse than buying glasses that are too tall to fit onto your shelves.
