Best Bets For Bar Stools

Putting a short swivel bar stool at a high bar doesn’t make sense. If a person has to strain to reach a bar, they will be uncomfortable and more likely to have an accident. And, if a bar stool is too high, a person’s legs will be unlikely to reach the ground, creating a seating situation that is awkward at best. When determining which bar stools would be best, you should keep these two instructions in mind:

~Measure tables and counters by the length of the floor to the top of the table or bar. About 10-12 inches should be between a tabletop and a stool’s seat.

~Measure the table’s overhang; this includes the distance from the tabletop to the lowest part of the table’s sides, excluding the table’s legs. The wider the overhang, the lower the bar stool should be.

How To Set Up A Dart Board

A dart board is a great accessory to any game room or rec-room. With all the variations of the game of darts it can give you and your friends hours of entertainment. Here are a few helpful tips to bear in mind if you are thinking of installing a dart board in your home.

The location of your dart board is very important. It may sound obvious , but is important that there is enough space to play a good game of darts. As a guide line you will need enough space around 11ft long and 5ft wide. Try to locate it away from open doors and where people will be come through. Not only can this be disruptive to the game but can cause injury to someone who gets hit by a dart.

You can fix a back board behind the dart board to protect the surround wall from damages that the darts can cause, or you can get a dart board that has a built in cabinet like a floor model. Cabinets made especially for dart boards are useful for storing your darts and accessories, and enable you to close the doors on your board when it’s not in use.

Hanging your dart board it is important to take exact measurements. Measure twice and hang once! The proper height should be exactly 5ft 8 inch’s from the middle of the bulls eye to the ground. If you do not have a dart mat then you will have to make a mark on the floor, using a marker or tape or a piece of wood or metal. the trough line should me 7ft 9.25″ from the board.

Once you have the dart board in place the you can work on accessorizing the room by hanging a score board near the dart board and get some nice bar stools and tables, to keep your company comfortable.

Strip Beer Pong-New Twist

There are many variations of the game of beer pong, none as interesting to me as Strip Beer Pong. This is a game that can be called many things – Strip Beer Pong, Stripper Beer Pong, Beer Pong Strip or any number of different names. We will just call it Strip Beer Pong.

To play strip beer pong you set the game up as you would for any beer pong game. Now you will need to get a Sharpie marker (or some other worthy marker) and write an article of clothing on each cup – for example shoes, shirt, pants, bra and so on. When someone from the other team makes a shot into one of your cups, you have the option to drink the contents of the cup or remove the article of clothing that is written on the cup. If you strip the cup stays in play. If you strip and the shot is made into that same cup than you most drink the contents and then remove from play. In the case of a bounce shot, the cup must be drank AND the article of clothing removed.

These are not rules set in gold, you can always change them up from classic beer pong. This seems like the perfect way of doing it. Pong On!

Summer Margaritas

Summer is here, for the next few months, and one of the most fun things that we like to do at our house is to have Margaritas outside with friends and family. When you have a get together like this, its important to think ahead on what margarita glassware to use.

Most people would use just any glassware without thinking on how it looks but to add a bit of fun to the party we suggest to actually use real margarita glasses. There are many styles and colors that you can find and use but you need to think of how you want to present the colors of the glassware to your surroundings. We have a patio that has tans and reds to it so we went with reds, greens and yellows for our margarita glassware!

Enjoy the summer months with a few friends and family and serve them some cool margaritas to get the party started.

Tattooed

We are seeing more and more tattoo shops turning up in our towns that are putting out excellent body art. We all have friends that have them along with the ones that we are displaying. At parties you can hear the women asking to see each others tattoos along with asking the guys to see theirs. We all know that they are really a great way of expressing ourselves to other people, with the artwork put on our bodies.

There are also other ways to show your expressions at your house party with tattooed glassware, that you can find at any really good store that carries fine glassware. There are designs such as The Celtic Star or maybe the Celtic Cross or even a glass with a tattoo of Spiked Arrows or Tribal Arrows. What ever the design of the tattooed glassware that you would choose I am sure that they would be a hit at any house party.

They would be a great addition to any home rec/bar to be displayed out to were your guest can see them.

Like most modern college students, I’ve spent a good amount of time at the beer pong table. When some friends and I decided to get a place of our own, we knew that we had to designate an area of the house for weekend competitions. As we were required to put down a sizeable security deposit, we came to a consensus that it would be wisest to keep the pong playing confined to the garage.

I was lucky enough to find an old ping-pong table for sale at a garage sale down the street. Since the net was broken, the owner didn’t want it anymore—but it was ideal for our breed of pong. We also picked up a couple of beer pong kits, which included a unique racking system, a full set of cups and a surplus of balls. It also came with a rulebook, but we made a few tweaks to create our own custom house rules.

Betty White and Beer Pong

Close to a tear now Betty White appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and played the host in a great game of beer pong. Despite being a great sport as ussual our love Betty tragically lost. On the show, in her whirlwind tour promoting her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live the following night, the Golden Girls alum reappeared on Late Night for a rermatch, what a trooper. Not before she yelled “you cheated” at Jimmy about there last encounter with ping pong balls and beer. To Cool. Sadly though, Betty also lost that match to Jimmy- but of course she was smiling all the way.

Betty you keep on practicing and get better at beer pong and go back and beat Jimmy Fallon. We know that you can do it!

Real Beer Pong

I have been seeing a lot about the Nintendo Wii beer pong game and just have to wonder if it is any good! Nintendo has been very popular for gamers since its launch in November 2006. There are many Nintendo Wii parties happening every week end among the young and the young at heart!

You can find the Nintendo Wii and “Old Folks Homes”, rehabilitation centers and in the collage dorms. This is where you will find many gaming parties. Now Nintendo has taken the party to another level named the “Party Game”. It has many of the familiar games as Hoop Shoot, Table Hockey, Trivia and also a game called “ping pong”! This seems familiar to me, a lot like “BEER PONG”, with no beer involved.

There are some benefits to this game “ping pong”.

1) No fluids to be spilled on the floor,  only empty beer cans to be picked up!

2) The game can be played at a much casual, non-binge drinking fashion!

3)You can play beer pong without drinking basement floor dust bunnies!

I would dare to ask though! “How do you psyche out your the other team”!!!

The Art of Throwing Darts

When I started playing league darts at our local pub I had no idea that there was a bit of science in the stance of the tossing of the darts! I had been watching some of the better dart players, all of them where better then I, throw the darts with a slight arc that was less then what I was using. I thought that I would touch base with the readers and try to help out so there is not the struggle of throwing a good dart.

I had noticed that a good dart throw begins with a good stance. it is good to align align the body so that the throwing arm is forward. A right handed thrower will want the right foot at the toe line. Your body, should be aligned from 45 to 90 degrees from the toe line, with the other foot back. If the opposite foot is forward the thrower will have to sling the dart across the body. This will cause the thrower to throw the dart longer. Also throws become awkward when the body is parallel.

Now is the importance of the grip! Probable the easiest and a more comfortable grip for the beginner is the pencil grip as this is familiar. However, the grip can be done many ways. the Kay is to grip the dart with your thumb and push it against two or more fingers. Keep the dart pointing up slightly upward and stabilized. The dart, no matter how hard it is thrown is going to go into an arc because of gravity.

Maintain the accuracy, the thrower should not make extreme variations to the throwing or the speed or grip of the dart. Continuous with a particular style and speed will allow the thrower to gauge where the dart will strike the board based on the angle of the throw to the angle of the release.

Dart throwing is done with the arm. You do not move the body during the throw. The elbow stays still while pulling the dart back. This allows the the hand to follow the path of the dart. Many experts use a wrist snap that makes the entire movement of the arm rather like the crack of a whip.  This may not work for the beginner and may degrade accuracy.
