Beer and Beer Pong

There is always the conversation on what cheap beer is the best and it will always be an ongoing debate. Having a good cold tasting beer while playing beer pong can be very enjoyable (if you suck) and a warm skunky tasting draft can really spoil the party. When planning a beer pong party quantity is more then quality, but that is not always the case.

Slate even broke down beers with a formula to get the best return on your investment.

Details magazine also put out a “best blue collar beer” list a while back.

The Brew Site also released a more scientific survey on cheap beer a ways back as well.

These are very interesting articles to go by and could make for a great conversation.

When you are setting up your bar at home or for business, you will need the right furniture and equipment.  And one of important things you will need is a set of bar stools.  But don’t simply settle for the first stool you see. An assortment of designs and colors are available, so there is something to complement any décor.

A wood or metal bar stool are the most common options, although you can certainly be more adventurous if you choose. For a rustic, saloon-style décor, a wooden stool is the obvious choice, while metal stools are ideal for a more contemporary façade. But aesthetics aren’t the only thing; be sure you stools are comfortable and come with cushions. These cushions come in different styles and colors as well so they can easily match everything.

Collage Rules Beer Pong

You have to love this game! There are collage students that play beer pong most every night. Beer pong at collage is usually played at parties and “kick backs”. This is why it is important to learn the rules so you do not look like a puss!

General

2 teams of 1-4 people taking turns shooting. After one side gets done shooting and the opposing team has drank the cups that were made then it is the opposing teams turn to shoot. This goes on till the one team has run out of cups.

Requirements

Beer – CHEAP BEER, something like Miller Ice , Natural Ice and make it Lite, so you don’t get full so quick.

22 cups – 10 cups per side and 2 cups of clean warm water to wash your balls!

Hear is a no brainer, 1 beer pong table!

Oh yea, ping ball balls. Enough for all of the players.

Friends, if you have non then go out and make a few!

2 verses 2 Rules

1. The bomb is when you get 2 balls into one cup. The opposing team has to drink 3 cups and that team gets “balls back”.

2. 2 balls into different cups the opposing team drinks 2 cups and gets “balls back”.

3. When you make 2 cups in a row you have heat, (nothing happens) but if you get 3 in a row you have “fire”. You get to keep on shooting until you miss. There is no re rack on fire shots.

4. You have 2 “consolidations” aka “reracks” (reorganize the cups) per a game. But the thing is you can only rerack when you have even cups. So only on 6, 4, 2 cups.  When you “rock” you have to make it into a pyramid shape on 6, diamond on 4, and a line on 2. Usually people are  allowed to rock whenever they like, and into whatever shape they want, but  forcing reracks on even cups and set shapes adds more strategy and organization to the game.
5. You can “bounce” whenever you’d like, if you bounce and it goes in, it is automatically 2 cups. But the opposing team can swat away your bounce if they see it.

6. On a shoot that when the ball spins around the rim of the cup the other team has a chance to flick the ball out so that it does not count. Here comes the “Girls Blow and Guys Finger”, the girls can blow the ball out but the guys can use two fingers to get the ball out of the cup. If any beer blown or flicked out while removing the ball, then it doesn’t count.

7. After the last cup is made, the opposing team has a chance to “rebuttal”. But if the shooting team “bombs” it (both make the same cup), or if the ball is bounced when there is 1 cup left it is “ice”, and the opposing team can’t “rebuttal”. If the opposing team makes 2 cups then the game continues and no one drinks any cups. If everyone misses, then the last person gets a chance to bounce without interference. If he/she makes it then the game continues. If the rebuttal is missed, then the losing team also drinks all of their opponents cups.

So drink and play responsibly and have a hell of a lot of fun. PONG ON!

Minimum Rules for Air Hockey

When you are ready to begin to play the game of air hockey then you need to know at least the minimum rules to begin to play by. There are at least 5 air hockey rules that you will need to know if you want to play the game the right way.

1)  The most over looked rule of the air hockey is the stopping of the puck. More specifically lifting up the mallet and placing it on top of the puck. This is known as “topping” and cannot be done at any time before a serve or after a serve during play.

2)  Another rule of play is that many forget at striking the puck is that they cannot reach to for crossing the center line with their mallet. This results in a foul and the puck is given back to the opponent.

3)  In reference to the above rule, there is a rule that says “When the puck is in contact with the center line, each player may strike the puck.” So you can strike the puck with your mallet only if it is on the center line.

4)  Once the puck passes the center line then the player has 7 seconds to strike the puck and make his shot. Failure to hit the puck back to the opposing player results in a foul and goes back to the opposing player.

5)  And the 5th rule is the easiest to remember, what score does it take to win the game. That is easy 7 wins the air hockey game.

So if you want to play by easy rules then these rules are for you. You can always come up with some house rule if you feel adventurous.

Here is a selections of great beer quotes from some famous and some I do not know. These quotes are excellent to use at your next beer pong party. Take a couple away with you and try them out and see if anyone knows who they were from. If you can get a laugh out of someone make sure that they do not fall over the beer pong table. It could get messy!

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
-Benjamin Franklin-

For a quart of Ale is a meal for a King.
-William Shakespeare-

You can’t be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline – it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

He was a wise man who invented beer.
-Plato-

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

Strategy for Foosball to Win By

I have written a few articles on foosball but here are two tips to be a winner! If you want to be a really good foosball player and a winner, you only have to learn two important strategies – good offense and an impenetrable defense. All other foosball skills fall under these two categories.

When playing foosball defense is king, which is real similar as in real soccer. A good involve learning to resist spinning the rods aimlessly and this is a good start. This move is not allowed in amateur and professional competitions. Besides, if you spin the rods  to much, you will loose control of your men and the game in general. Doing just that you’ll make horrible shots that won’t break your opponents defense. To block your opponents shots you have to make sure your men are standing in the upright positions at all times.

As far as offense is concerned, you have to be more aggressive. As being aggressive you have to hit the ball hard, among many other things. The harder the ball is hit the harder it is for your opponent to stop. A hard hit ball is going to be worthless unless it is struck accurately. You have to focus on accuracy and force when you are on the offense – the combination of the these two skill can be deadly. If you master these two skills, you will become a winner of the game of Foosball.

Just like any game, it takes time and practice to become skillful at foosball. You can’t learn all of the basics, techniques and skills of foosball over night. You will have to put some effort into learning and mastering each skill. Don’t worry; your sacrifices will reap great rewards.

Summertime Party Entertainment

If you’re hosting a party sometime this summer—as most people are—it’s important to plan ahead to show your guests a good time. Those fortunate enough to have lakeside property, indoor basketball courts and rooms filled with HDTVs probably don’t have to worry about their guests having a good time. But for the rest of us, it’s imperative to take some time to consider some festive diversions.

Drinking tends to be a centerpiece of any party, but most people don’t want to sit at a card table with a pack of sticky playing cards playing half-hearted drinking games. Extreme beer pong tables get people out of their seats, offer hours of entertainment and ensure everyone is having a good time. Also consider dart boards and lawn games such as Bocce or horseshoes for those who aren’t too keen on beer.

Air Hockey the Rules

A air hockey table can be considered an investment in the entertainment world. You will get hours upon hours of gaming pleasure when you add a air hockey table to your game/rec room. Whether if you play for leisure, social fun or competitively, knowing the professional rule of the United States Air Hockey Association will add more enjoyment of your air hockey game.

Of course you can add your own house rules, when the main idea of playing air hockey is to have fun. With the house rules in place each player must understand them all before play begins.

United States Air Hockey Association rules

The following is an interpretation of the standard rules of air hockey to get you started. For the complete list of rules and sanctioned equipment, consult the USAA’s Web site.

1. A player may stand anywhere around the air hockey table on his or her side of the centerline. He/she may not stand past the centerline.

2. If any part of a player’s hand, arm, body, or clothes touches the puck, a palming foul should be called. This is one of many very important rules.

3. The air hockey puck may be touched with any part of the mallet but the bottom surface.

4. The puck can’t be topped by lifting the mallet and placing it on the top of the puck to slow or stop it while the puck is in play on the air hockey table. This can’t be done at any time, either before a serve or during play. Any violation of this or other rules constitutes a foul. However, using the mallet to bring an airborne puck to the table or toward the opponent’s goal is not considered a topping violation no matter which side or edge of the puck is contacted.

5. Only one puck can be in play at a given moment.

6. A player may use only one air hockey mallet on the playing surface at one time. A violation of this rule or other rules results in a foul. Players may choose how to hold the one air hockey mallet.

7. When the puck enters a player’s goal, the puck must drop and remain in the goal in order for the goal to count. The player’s opponent receives one point for a goal scored, unless the offensive player committed a foul-breaking the rules-during or prior to making the shot.

8. A player has seven (7) seconds to make a shot that crosses the centerline of the air hockey table. The rules state that the seven (7) seconds begin as soon as the puck enters and stays on that player’s side of the centerline. A violation of this rule, like other rules, is a foul.

9. When the puck is in contact with any part of the centerline, either air hockey player is entitled to strike the puck.

10. The player who is scored upon receives possession of the puck for the next serve.

11. Rules state that when a player is scored upon, he/she has 10 seconds to remove the air hockey puck from the goal and place it in play. The 10 seconds start as soon as the puck has fallen entirely through the goal and is available for the player to place into play. This rule is suspended during a time-out.

12. A player may hand serve the puck (use his or her hand to set the puck in front of his or her mallet) only after he or she has been scored upon.

13. Rules entitle each player to take one timeout per game. The timeout may be no longer than 10 seconds.

14. A player may use his/her timeout only when the air hockey puck is in his/her possession or not in play.

15. A player must make a clear indication of a timeout so that the opponent understands the other player’s intention.
16. The first player who scores seven (7) goals is the winner.

17. After each game is complete, players change table sides

If these rules are followed by and agreed with each player the game should go well. You can always put a twist to them with added some house rules to them.

We all know of a Social Butterfly! We have seen them at our work places they are the ones that seem to be away from their desks more that at them. They are the ones that can not make it through the cafeteria with out stopping several times to talk.

If you are a Social Butterfly then you know that information gathering is so important to you be it gossip or real information that you can use. I have found that you can find the Social Butterflies at clubs sitting in bar stools that swivel. I can see how that can work for them if the conversation starts to get a bit boring.

o sit to a person who is a bore or  who has drank to much. What a great tool a swiveling bar stool can be.

You facing enjoy watching a person who is a social butterfly who can handle the dreaded bore at a club or bar who has chose to sit in a swiveling bar stool!

Home Bars and Accessorize

There are more home bars popping up all over the place with the non-smoking in bars is in place. If you own one and or looking to put a home bar in for entertaining friends and neighbors you may be want to get a few tips for accessorizing your bar. In addition to spirits and alcohol you will need to glassware, decorative items along with other functional accessories.  Here are some ideas to get you started.

Glassware

The well-stocked bar will have the right amount of glassware to entertain with, along with the right type of glasses for making most any drink imaginable. But what glasses are you going to need? The amount of glasses will depend on the amount of room that you have for storing your glasses.

Stem glasses such as wine and margarita glasses can be hung from glass ware racks to maximize your space and allow you to display them for looks. Stem-less glasses such as beer mugs, shooters, tumblers, beer glasses and more. these are usually set on rubber mats to prevent slipping.

Accessories

There are many things that you can use to accessorize your home bar. But first you need to come up with a theme. You will want to stick with one theme and see it through till the end. Such as a Harley Davidson theme. There are many others you can choose from. You can find art work hanging wall clocks some with neon rims around them that will help with lighting. you can even go with a wall paper or paneling.

This is the great thing about having your own home bar, is that it can be decorated and set up by you. Use a theme and go for it!
