This has been an exciting year for all of us at Extreme Beer Pong Now we would like to thank 
everyone for the visit to our web site and to our blog. We would all hope that your time with us has been every thing that you had hoped.

Air Hockey Game Play
Tournament play is usually played as this.
* The mallet is handled by the players fingers behind the knob not by gripping the top of the 
knob. This allows the air hockey player to move the mallet around the table with better wrist action.
*The basic defence of the player is to keep the mallet close to 8 inches out from the goal and also center to the goal. In this position, little movement is need from side to side to protect the goal from straight shots. To block side shots, all is need is to pull back to the corners of the goal.
*Shots are often hit out of “drifts”, this is where the puck moves in patterns so as to throw off the opponent’s expectations and timing. The most used patterns are the “center”, “diamond”, “diagnal and “L”.
*Shots are often used in “combos”, meaning groups of shots which are hit with the apparent delivery but the opposite directions, made by hitting the puck on the opposite side of the mallet. These shots are made to hit the puck off of the right wall or left so as to appear as a straight shot.

Air Hockey, How Fun!
Air Hockey is such a great and fun game to play with friends and neighbors. I find that it is a great way to let off some steam and let the world go by with out a thought of other then the 
game its self. It is a great way to be able to socialize with others that like to play the game. It can be very competitive, with its fast play and excitement. Even the guests that are watching the play get into the game.
Air hockey is a simple game. You’re just trying to get the puck into your opponent’s goal, which is a slot at the end of the table. It’s called air hockey because the playing surface is perforated and air is forced through the holes causing the puck to glide effortless. The object you use to push and block the puck is called an air hockey mallet. Usually they’re made of plastic but there are ones made of wood and metal. Air hockey is a fast-paced, fun game that anyone can play.
There are many air hockey tables available that will fit any budget. Play on one and I know that you will be hooked on the game. If you have a game room then this is a game that is a must, it will make a great addition to your room.

Air Hockey Tables
A lot of people might not go along with the thinking that indoor sports are as popular with the current generation as the outdoor sports. There are many such 
sports that are extremely popular world wide. Air hockey is one of these sports that is widely liked and played by kids and adults alike. The bad thing is that when the game is over and the pucks are lifted, nobody bothers to take care to put the cover over the table.
You just need to give up a small part of your time to for the cleaning process. The first task is cleaning up the dirt off of the playing surface. This is easy with the use of a vacuum cleaner. Most vacuums come with cleaning tools that is made for the surface of your air hockey table. After using the vacuum cleaner, use a dry cloth to give the table a good wipe down. This is a good time to buy a good cover for the table.
Now all that is left is to use a can of all-purpose cleaner. Spay a clean cloth and clean the table top and also the rest of the table including the legs. The cleaner will give the top a nice surface that lets the puck slip along nicely.
Now that did not take long and this will give you a clean table for your next hockey game.
Man Caves
Every guy that I know has or would like to have his own man cave, or rec/bar 
room, that he and his family and friends can have hours of fun all year long. To create the right room, in the basement or another room in the house, you would need top come up with a theme. It could be a sports theme like one of your favorite teams or collage. Or if you are a biker it could be around a Harley Davidson theme. It is your pick. What you will need is more then a billiard table and a few cue sticks!
If you are going to entertain then you will surly need to create a bar to serve beverages along with a refrigerator to keep them cold. A few bar tables and stools never hurt for atmosphere. If your family is going to enjoy the room, then you will need to have in place, is a foosball or air hockey table or both to keep the young ones happy along with the adults who like to play these games. When it is adult time you may want to add a nice poker table and chairs for a friendly card game and drinks.
If you have the room and want to spend some quality time with your family then a nice big screen HD tv with a sound system that kicks is the way to go!
These are just a few ideas that you can go by but it is totally up to you on how you want to set up your own rec/bar room.
Minimum Rules for Air Hockey
When you are ready to begin to play the game of air hockey
then you need to know at least the minimum rules to begin to play by. There are at least 5 air hockey rules that you will need to know if you want to play the game the right way.
1) The most over looked rule of the air hockey is the stopping of the puck. More specifically lifting up the mallet and placing it on top of the puck. This is known as “topping” and cannot be done at any time before a serve or after a serve during play.
2) Another rule of play is that many forget at striking the puck is that they cannot reach to for crossing the center line with their mallet. This results in a foul and the puck is given back to the opponent.
3) In reference to the above rule, there is a rule that says “When the puck is in contact with the center line, each player may strike the puck.” So you can strike the puck with your mallet only if it is on the center line.
4) Once the puck passes the center line then the player has 7 seconds to strike the puck and make his shot. Failure to hit the puck back to the opposing player results in a foul and goes back to the opposing player.
5) And the 5th rule is the easiest to remember, what score does it take to win the game. That is easy 7 wins the air hockey game.
So if you want to play by easy rules then these rules are for you. You can always come up with some house rule if you feel adventurous.
Air Hockey the Rules
A air hockey table can be considered an investment in the entertainment 
world. You will get hours upon hours of gaming pleasure when you add a air hockey table to your game/rec room. Whether if you play for leisure, social fun or competitively, knowing the professional rule of the United States Air Hockey Association will add more enjoyment of your air hockey game.
Of course you can add your own house rules, when the main idea of playing air hockey is to have fun. With the house rules in place each player must understand them all before play begins.
United States Air Hockey Association rules
The following is an interpretation of the standard rules of air hockey to get you started. For the complete list of rules and sanctioned equipment, consult the USAA’s Web site.
1. A player may stand anywhere around the air hockey table on his or her side of the centerline. He/she may not stand past the centerline.
2. If any part of a player’s hand, arm, body, or clothes touches the puck, a palming foul should be called. This is one of many very important rules.
3. The air hockey puck may be touched with any part of the mallet but the bottom surface.
4. The puck can’t be topped by lifting the mallet and placing it on the top of the puck to slow or stop it while the puck is in play on the air hockey table. This can’t be done at any time, either before a serve or during play. Any violation of this or other rules constitutes a foul. However, using the mallet to bring an airborne puck to the table or toward the opponent’s goal is not considered a topping violation no matter which side or edge of the puck is contacted.
5. Only one puck can be in play at a given moment.
6. A player may use only one air hockey mallet on the playing surface at one time. A violation of this rule or other rules results in a foul. Players may choose how to hold the one air hockey mallet.
7. When the puck enters a player’s goal, the puck must drop and remain in the goal in order for the goal to count. The player’s opponent receives one point for a goal scored, unless the offensive player committed a foul-breaking the rules-during or prior to making the shot.
8. A player has seven (7) seconds to make a shot that crosses the centerline of the air hockey table. The rules state that the seven (7) seconds begin as soon as the puck enters and stays on that player’s side of the centerline. A violation of this rule, like other rules, is a foul.
9. When the puck is in contact with any part of the centerline, either air hockey player is entitled to strike the puck.
10. The player who is scored upon receives possession of the puck for the next serve.
11. Rules state that when a player is scored upon, he/she has 10 seconds to remove the air hockey puck from the goal and place it in play. The 10 seconds start as soon as the puck has fallen entirely through the goal and is available for the player to place into play. This rule is suspended during a time-out.
12. A player may hand serve the puck (use his or her hand to set the puck in front of his or her mallet) only after he or she has been scored upon.
13. Rules entitle each player to take one timeout per game. The timeout may be no longer than 10 seconds.
14. A player may use his/her timeout only when the air hockey puck is in his/her possession or not in play.
15. A player must make a clear indication of a timeout so that the opponent understands the other player’s intention.
16. The first player who scores seven (7) goals is the winner.
17. After each game is complete, players change table sides
If these rules are followed by and agreed with each player the game should go well. You can always put a twist to them with added some house rules to them.
