Home Bars and Accessorize
There are more home bars popping up all over the place with the non-smoking in bars is in place. If you own one and or looking to put a home bar in for entertaining friends and neighbors you may be want to get a few tips for accessorizing your bar. In addition to spirits and alcohol you will need to glassware, decorative items along with other functional accessories. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Glassware
The well-stocked bar will have the right amount of glassware to entertain with, along with the right type of glasses for making most any drink imaginable. But what glasses are you going to need? The amount of glasses will depend on the amount of room that you have for storing your glasses.
Stem glasses such as wine and margarita glasses can be hung from glass ware racks to maximize your space and allow you to display them for looks. Stem-less glasses such as beer mugs, shooters, tumblers, beer glasses and more. these are usually set on rubber mats to prevent slipping.
Accessories
There are many things that you can use to accessorize your home bar. But first you need to come up with a theme. You will want to stick with one theme and see it through till the end. Such as a Harley Davidson theme. There are many others you can choose from. You can find art work hanging wall clocks some with neon rims around them that will help with lighting. you can even go with a wall paper or paneling.
This is the great thing about having your own home bar, is that it can be decorated and set up by you. Use a theme and go for it!
Bringing it to the 21st Century
For many people, clocks are usually one of the last things they buy for their home with the hopes finding that the timepieces will match the furniture or the overall aesthetic of the house. With so many furniture superstores and big box retailers gearing towards an abstract look, it’s best to look for something in the vein of modern wall clocks.
Even if the look of your house is inspired by 1950′s to 1970′s retro, the modern clock will give a hint of kitsch, and not necessarily in the John Waters sense. I added a neon wall clock to my game room, and it effectively enhanced the ambiance. No home is complete without a clock anyway, lest you expect your guests to ask you to take out your cell phone when they want to know what time it is.
Rec Room Redesign
After months of ceaseless inquiries, my wife finally gave me clearance to turn the basement into a recreation room. She was never really opposed to the idea, but she certainly didn’t share my undying enthusiasm about spending our evenings in subterranean bliss, shooting pool and tossing back a few refreshments. I began the work right away.
Installing the bar was probably the most backbreaking part of the ordeal, and moving a billiard table into the house and down the narrow staircase was no mean feat either. I welcomed the opportunity to get a bit creative with the precise design details. I found the perfect vinyl bar stools to complement the green felt atop the pool table and embellished the room with several other pieces of bar decor. My only difficulty now is coming up with reasons to leave the comfort of my underground dwelling.
